I have been trained classically and formerly taught with Trinity College. I have a wide musical abilty and can play a number of styles. I have been involved with a many bands over the years - from small local gigs to bigger concerts and festivals in Europe. I've also spent many hours in a professional studio environment - having a music producer father has been a great help!
The M.U. is the biggest governing body representing musicians in the U.K. I am provided with Public Liability Insurance, which is vital for private tuition. I also visit a number of teaching seminars during each year - this continually expands my teaching portfolio and gives me the opportunity to meet with other music teachers in the U.K.
M.U. members are now expected to have a CRB disclosure in order to register nationally as a piano teacher. The CRB is an executive agency of the Home Office, providing wider access to bureau information through its disclosure service. This service enables organisations and individuals in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who are suitable for certain work, especially that involve children or vulnerable adults.
